MERRY CHRISTMAS

Dearest PP,
Merry Christmas my good friend! I know we have talked about it many times…..but can you believe where we are? How far and different than last year? Like, I have a dog, we have both moved, we both have bangs(some better than others), and we are still standing in this hurricane that is our lives. WOW. Amen? I woke up so discouraged this morning. I had to send both kids off to be with DH. (You know how traditional I am) We had a great Christmas a few days ago…but you know…today is the day. They fussed and did not want to go…I tromped out to his car in my robe and boots and loaded my sweet kids in and kissed them goodbye. Before I went back inside…..I stood outside (knee deep in snow)feeling so sad that we live in such a broken world…...I was able to give my kids some great gifts…but not all that I wanted to. I want to give them a whole family…..but I cannot be both sides of that. It is a choice. I know I can do my part and be as healthy for them that I can. God is the GREAT healer and ask Him daily to renew me. The carol “Emanuel” came into my head…....It was not the cold wind…it was the sweet whisper of the Holy Spirit….reminding me that EMANUEL means “God with us”. He is here…he is with us. He walks every step with us. I needed that today. I wiped my eyes and went in to unload the dishwasher and cook the rump roast for dinner. I put on my Third Day Christmas album and felt that peace…..you know it….that peace that you think is impossible when your heart is so broken. SO….Merry Christmas my friend. Take Heart…HE IS WITH US.
