Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives...let it be incorruptable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 1 Peter 3:1

Add to the Beauty

Sometimes we need to stop and reflect on where we are in our lives and what this whole onep3 thing means to us—as it continually evolves under God’s sovereign hand. So in a nutshell, our lives continue to be an episode in the ongoing saga of God’s redemption. As we get further from the last year’s acute crisis, we realize how much we want to be a part of God’s story for redemption in our lives and in the lives of the people involved in all of this. As we work through our own healing and junk, we continually ask the Lord to help us “add to the beauty” of our lives and our children’s lives and not distract in any way. This is very hard to do, as we are natural distracters (not terribly different than natural disasters) in our flesh. But we continually strive.
And then there is this ministry. God is opening doors for us to get this message out to other single moms and women going through similar struggles. We want to “add to the beauty” in their lives too and encourage others to be single-minded in this goal. Without the intervention of the Holy Spirit, we wouldn’t have a chance. But we know that we have all of Heaven behind us to aid us in becoming more efficient messengers of Jesus. God doesn’t need people like you and like us to accomplish this work, but for some reason He has decided to use us. So we want to give everything we have for Him.
And that’s what this is all about, Charlie Brown.

Add to the Beauty
By: Sara Groves
We come with beautiful secrets
We come with purposes written on our hearts, written on our souls
We come to every new morning
With possibilities only we can hold, that only we can hold
Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are
And I want to add to the beauty
To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light
That’s burning up inside
It comes in small inspirations
It brings redemption to life and work
To our lives and our work
It comes in loving community
It comes in helping a soul find it’s worth
Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are
This is grace, an invitation to be beautiful
This is grace, an invitation
